What if Frozen 2 was a 2D hand drawn animation like an old Disney cartoon? We recreated the Frozen 2 trailer (cover) as a 2D animation. We worked with an absolutely amazing artist and musician to create an Into the Unknown cover that was inspired by traditional Disney films. The actual animation was made by a small team of two working for several months. We are big fans of Disney and thought it would be cool to recreate the trailer as an old- school Disney animation. Watching countless hours of Disney animation inspired the look and music. Although we could never come close to Disney, we wanted animated characters over painterly backgrounds. We started with an under painting and painted detail layers over it. What is Frozen without the effects? One of the hardest aspects was recreating all of the VFX, which required a lot of problem-solving. We also included a black-and-white version as an extra. We hope you enjoy.
